tomorrow's the day

so our shuttle is picking us up at four freaking thirty tomorrow morning. happy to report that we are fully packed and ready to go! i even went to the gym for a little while tonight and i am currently watching project runway. seeing as how i didn't even get home from work until 8 p.m., i'd say that's an accomplishment.

and did i mention we are doing the WHOLE two week european extravaganza with one carry on and one backpack each? yeah, we're hardcore.

that means we have gotten really creative about packing, liquids, etc. etc. we invested in these super cool plastic bags with vents at the bottom, so you roll your clothes up into uber skinny little packages. they are amazing!

i am all over 3 oz. liquid containers, travel size toiletries, etc. i'm hoping i'll make it through the whole two weeks with what i've packed.

we have also bought those lame little airplane pillows. i suck at sleeping on airplanes so i'm willing to try anything, since i'll be on a plane for 14 hours AND trying to get used to a completely new time zone. at least the pillow is pink and cute!

lastly i am beginning to get a little anxious about this trip. this is probably due to a few different reasons:
1. i have never been on an airplane for so long before
2. i have never been to another country before
3. let alone one where english isn't the first language
4. we are visiting brandon's mission families/companions/friends, some of which don't speak english at ALL! i have learned a few german/french phrases but seriously. i hope i can communicate with these peeps
5. we bought a new canon powershot camera, which is quite cute and technologically savvy, but i don't know how to use it very well. i suppose i will use the plane ride for an educational period. what if i don't figure it out in time and can't adequately document our trip??

but really, all in all i am insanely excited for our trip. i am happy to take a break from work, happy to visit brandon's motherland, happy to be on an incredible adventure. auf wiedersehen!

Yaaaay, have a great trip!! I can't wait to hear all about it!!

When Tim and I went to Europe a little over a year ago, we also took carry-on suitcases and backpacks. BEST decision we ever made!!! It was SO much easier to get around.

(Worst decision we ever made? Attempting to wash our clothes in the sink of our Paris hotel room. Yeah... next time, we're just going to a laundromat first-thing, instead of sleeping beneath lines of soaked clothes stretched across the tiny room, only to find that they were still just as soaked in the morning.) :-)
